CBT Celebrates the Women's Suffrage Centenary
Join us on February 7th for a special event as part of the capital's Women's Suffrage Centenary celebrations.
We will be remembering Rosa May Billinghurst, an incredible suffragette who attended rallies in her adapted handcycle, only to have it turned over, robbed of valves and the tyres slashed by the police.

As we celebrate the democratic rights campaigners such as May have brought women today, we look forward to a future in which all of us live within safe, connected communities.
Guiding us on this journey will be Isabelle Clement, Director of Wheels for Wellbeing, an inclusive cycling charity running sessions out of Croydon Sports Arena. Isabelle will talk about her own experiences as a disabled cyclist in a Q&A with comedian Rosie Jones.
The evening will finish with a special private screening of BBC 2's suffragette themed comedy, 'Up the Women' in Croydon's very own David Lean cinema.
We hope to see Croydonians uniting in this special gala evening as we both look back to the achievements of our campaigning foresisters and look to what battles are still left to fight.
